Forecast Update

The back edge of rain is approaching the Tennessee River. We will have several more hours of light to moderate rain across Middle Tennessee, but I believe the heaviest of the rainfall has moved off to the east. Heavier showers and thundershowers are now bearing down on Knoxville and Chattanooga.

Though the chances are not the best in the world, I still believe that a few flurries and snow showers could develop for the eastern counties of Middle Tennessee. In the higher elevations of the Cumberland Plateau, a few elevated surfaces could pick up a dusting Saturday night- Sunday morning. Take a look at VolunteerWx's latest prediction with the new Winter Cast.

Taking a look at the forecast for next week, things look quite chilly. Sunday will continue to be cold and should be dry. We will see a brief warm up on Monday into the 50's before the next dry cold front sweeps through bringing cold again for Tuesday with highs in the 40's and lows into the 20's. Another warm up on Wednesday to the 50's and then temperatures fall again for Thursday and Friday. Some areas on the Plateau will have a hard time getting out of the 30's next Friday and into Saturday. The forecast further out into voo-doo land is still up in the air. No definitive forecast right now for Thanksgiving.
