Frigid Saturday

What beautiful sunshine we have out there this afternoon across Southern Tennessee. The thing is however, do not let the sunshine fool you. It is a frigid afternoon across the Tennessee Valley and that looks to be the rule for the rest of the weekend. Afternoon highs today will be around the freezing mark with temperatures tonight plummeting into the upper teens. Make sure to take precautions tonight as to protecting life and property in this artic air. Still watching a weather maker for the beginning of the week that will bring some rain to the area. The question is though whether we will see any wintry precipitation with that rain. More updates on that weather system as it gets closer.

Cold Tonight

Well the warmer weather was nice while it was here. Today we have gotten back to some reality. Temperatures today have struggled to get into the 40's. Tonight, lows will drop well into the 20's, and we can not rule out some isolated area's dipping into the teens. If you had moved any plants outside for the nice weather, today would be the day to move them back in. A hard freeze can be expected tonight. As for the weekend system, I plan on taking the snow out of the 5 day completely a little later. Snow will prolly fly Saturday morning but no accumulation is expected anywhere currently.

Warm Week Ahead Then More Cold

Over the next 5-6 days, very warm weather and even thunderstorms will be around the Middle Tennessee area. That does not mean that we are not done with winter just yet though. Take a look at the extended temperature trend map published today.



We will now just have to see if we can get some precipitation in here about the same time the cold is for a good snow.
